Movement - Growth -Resilience -Community
Nicole's Story:
It was in 2019 when I found myself at one of my lowest points mentally and emotionally. I had experienced difficult seasons before that, but something about that time — the weight of school, expectations, and not fully believing my life had value — made everything feel heavier. I started questioning myself in ways I didn’t know how to answer. I wondered if what I felt was too much for other people to hold.
I think in some way, many of us can relate to that feeling — of being in a place where you’re trying to keep going, but you don’t quite know how to move through what you’re carrying. For some people, support shows up in different forms — therapy, medication, hospitalization, community, or simply time. For others, it looks like learning how to slowly piece themselves back together while still showing up to life.
Wherever someone is on their mental health journey, I’ve come to believe we all have a story worth paying attention to.
Over time, I’ve found myself drawn to people’s stories in a very human way — through writing, reflection, and learning how to sit with the parts of life that don’t always make sense yet. Healing, to me, isn’t something linear or finished — it’s something that happens in layers, often while life is still moving.
And as I began to reflect on my own journey, especially my experience training for marathons, I started to notice something deeper:
that the way we move physically has a way of shifting us emotionally and mentally too.
The consistency of showing up in movement began to translate into other parts of my life — building resilience, creating community through shared miles and experiences, and slowly becoming someone I hadn’t been before.
That’s when I started to understand that growth doesn’t only happen in reflection — it also happens in motion.
We Move Through Life, Not Simply Get Over It.
And that belief became the foundation for something I wanted to bring to others.
The Run Through It Project is a space exploring mental health, growth, and resilience through movement, storytelling, and community.
It is rooted in the belief that physical movement doesn’t just strengthen the body — it shifts something in us emotionally and mentally.
It exists to encourage all forms of movement — physical, emotional, and mental — and to remind us that as we move through life, we are also being shaped by it.
A space for movement, reflection, and real-life becoming — where growth is still unfolding, healing is still happening, and we’re still becoming while we move through life.
